Hello to our church family and friends,

Just a “short” note to let you all know that we are "ZOOM"ing along on Sunday mornings at 10 with a service at 10:30. We hope that you will join us in our quest for truth and enlightenment.

Our guest leader for November 29 th is Jeremy Schulz. "Jeremy wears many wigs. A Queer Survivor Theologian, Advocate, and Mystic, Jeremy explores the ways that survivors encounter the Sacred outside of traditional institutions and denominational boundaries. Jeremy earned his BA in religious studies and political science from the University of New Mexico before hopping in the car with their pooch companion Padme and starting their journey into higher theological location. They graduated from a Cooperative Master of Divinity program, spending two years at Hartford Seminary immersed in interfaith dialogue and public ministry and two years at Boston University School of Theology focusing on chaplaincy. Jeremy is completing his Master of Sacred Theology once again at BUSTH and is focused on uplifting and reframing marginalized stories of individual survival to imagine cutting edge alternative therapies for the treatment of complex Trauma. Jeremy will defend his thesis Spring 2021 and, fingers crossed, will continue the journey through a PhD program. Jeremy serves on the board of directors for The Network / La Red, co-chairs the LGBTQIA+ Domestic and Sexual Violence Coalition of MA, and is serving as a specialist in LGBTQ+ inclusion in religious dialogue and space on a NIH grant through the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Their sermon centers around Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR), an annual community vigil, protest, and life honoring of Transgender people murdered in the year. 2020 has been the deadliest year for Transgender communities since the Human Rights Campaign began monitoring these instances of violence in 2013. We know that these numbers are not accurate as many Transgender people are misidentified following violence. Between October and November the death toll rose from 30 to 34 as four more women were murdered, and the country remained silent. Jeremy calls us to remember the lives and legacies of our ancestors and friends and lovers as we imagine a future time when we can celebrate a Transgender Day of Rebirth and Renewal, in which the beauty of Goddess is revealed through our communities uniting to revitalize and care for our Trans siblings while they are alive."
