Hello to all of our family and friends,

“How Can We Hope?” This is our sermon for January 24 th with Rev Nick Boke as our guest leader.  Nicholas Boke is the former minister of the First Universalist Parish of Chester, Vermont, and has spoken from several dozen UU pulpits in New England and beyond. He currently works as an international education consultant in the Middle East and Sub-Saharan Africa. He lives in Chester, VT with his wife, Buffy, who recently retired from her ministry at First Parish Unitarian Universalist in Canton, MA.

The year 2020 has been a very complicated, complex and concerning year. Now we’re in a new year. Whether or not we made resolutions at the beginning of the year, we all are hoping that 2021 will be a better year. Better in the sense that we’re safer from the virus, in the sense that we have more clarity about what’s going on and what’s to come politically. Better in the sense that we hope that there’ll be less hostility and negativity among us. But how do we hope after what we’ve been through? How do we find hope? How do we make hope? How do we move beyond the person 2020 changed us into. How do we find or make or even hope to become a better self, living in a better world?

Won’t you join us?

Please remember that our address is    309 North Main Street, Fall River, MA 02720 and that we have a secure drop box at the front of church building, so that you can keep up with your pledges and donations in support of our church. A BIG thank you to all of our friends who have consistently honored their commitment to our church during this difficult time.

Hope to see you next week. And, as always, if you no longer want to receive these notices, let me know and I will remove your email address. If you know of anyone who would like to join us, send them a copy of this email and let me know that you did.
