"Hope Springs"

Presenter
Rev Barbara Dingwall Mills
Date

On Sunday, May23rd, Rev. Barbara Dingwall Mills, minister of the UU Church of Weymouth, will deliver a sermon entitled “Hope Springs” at the Fall River UU Church via Zoom. Spring is the time that we all wish for rebirth and renewal, but sometimes those are difficult and elusive concepts for us to grasp if we have suffered tremendous suffering and loss. While we’ve all heard the saying that “hope springs eternal”, if you have experienced events that are so searing to your mind, body, and soul that you find this thought too hard to conceive, maybe just hoping will have to be sufficient.

Barbara spent over thirty years as a teacher and administrator in the Weymouth Schools, teaching English, serving as a special needs educator of disabled and disenfranchised students, and as the principal of the Weymouth Evening High School. In addition, she was the president of BDMills, Inc., a loan closing agency operating in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

In 2009 Barbara was ordained by the UUA and is now the part-time minister at the UU Church of Weymouth. She also serves as a wedding officiant at many area country clubs. She is the mother of a grown daughter and has been married to her husband for almost forty years. Barbara has two beautiful granddaughters who are the delight of her life.

Request the Zoom link at our email address and we will forward it to you.

Please remember that our address is 309 North Main Street, Fall River, MA 02720 and that we have a secure drop box at the front of church building, so that you can keep up with your pledges and donations in support of our church. A BIG thank you to all of our friends who have consistently honored their commitment to our church during this difficult time. And remember, there are lots of ways to support our church. Like mowing the lawn, weeding the beds, raking the leaves. picking up debris and so on. You don't need an appointment, just a willingness to help. Bring your own tools and a couple of yard waste bags. Leave the full bags and they will disappear.

Hope to see you this week. And, as always, if you no longer want to receive these notices, let me know and I will remove your email address. If you know of anyone who would like to join us, send them a copy of this email and let me know that you did.
