The Unitarian Church in Fall River
October 31, 2021
Today’s Guest Minister: Rev Vera O’Brien
Rev. Vera discovered Unitarian Universalism on Thanksgiving morning in 1980 when she unexpectedly followed the Pilgrim’s Progress into the service at First Parish in Plymouth! She received her MDiv from Meadville Lombard Theological School- one of our two UU seminaries. In 2007, Rev. Vera was ordained at the Arlington Street Church in Boston while serving as their Lifespan Religious Educator and also working at Brigham and Women’s Hospital as a staff chaplain. She is currently a chaplain at South Shore Hospital and an Affiliated Community Minister at the Arlington Street Church.
Today’s Sermon: “Faithful Choices”
Rev. Vera will lead us in an examination of how our Unitarian Universalist and personal beliefs might be utilized to inform our decision making. Drawing upon her years of healthcare ministry, we will consider how our UU principles might help us make faithful choices at the most important moments in life.
We will attempt to simulcast our service via Zoom. For those participating by Zoom, the experience will be different than previously. The hymns and other material will not be on the screen, and those present in the sanctuary will not be able to see or hear you. If you have an Announcement or a Joy or Concern to share, you should communicate it in advance to someone who will be physically present.
