This week, our guest minister is Rev. Richard Trudeau, who was for 17 years the minister of the UU Church of Weymouth, Mass. and for 35 years a teacher of math and the history of astronomy at Stonehill College in Easton. He is the author of two books for UUs: Universalism 101 and Bible Stories for Skeptics. Now semi-retired, he is a member of the Unitarian Church in Fall River. He is married to Susan O'Connor, who after many careers is spending her retirement as a genealogist.

Rev. Claire Donaldson is a long time member and Deacon of First Church in Salem, Unitarian Universalist. Claire has worked as a chaplain and recreation therapist in a variety of healthcare settings for almost 40 years. Claire is a graduate of Boston University School of Theology. She lives in Lynn.

We are consistently urged through our Unitarian Universalist values and principles to see our dignity tied to the dignity of others.  A dignity, that when seen in others is Godly, a type of holiness that connects us to a Love, perhaps a God, who tells us to love the stranger and to love the stranger actively. And yet loving the stranger has been a struggle for us as a people and us as a country. This Sunday we will explore what it means to be active in this love.

Description

Today’s Guest Minister:  Rumni Saha considers herself to be a proud Hindu, Unitarian-Universalist, and a citizen of  the world. She has been a public-school special educator for the past 20 years. She is also a writer and a frequent contributor to the Huffington Post. She considers India, her home country, as having given her roots and her adopted country, her wings. Rumni is currently a Seminarian at Boston University on the Hospital  Chaplaincy track and is discerning ordination.

Our Guest Minister: Rev Danielle Di Bona has served Unitarian Universalism for 30 years, and is the 2018 recipient of the Award for Distinguished Service to the Cause of Unitarian Universalism. In her retirement, Rev. Di Bona serves as the Palliative Care chaplain at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, MA. She has served as a member of the UU Nominating Committee and on the Unitarian Universalist Women’s Federation board.

On Sunday, May 15th, Rev. David Horst explores the inner work of aging in his sermon “The Wisdom of Age.”

As we transition from a life of family, work, and acquisition to our Elderhood, how do the roles we have lived (or been assigned) give way to new wisdom and deeper soulfulness? Rev. Horst also suggests some contemplative practices for self-reflection on the aging process.

Description

Rev Nicholas Boke will be our guest leader on Sunday, May 8, 2022. Rev Nicholas Boke, who has supplied pulpits in dozens of UU churches, is the former minister of the First Universalist Parish of Chester, Vermont. He currently works as an international education consultant, primarily in the Middle East and Africa.   

 

The title of his sermon this week will be "Loss and Wonder".
